The BROACH for polygonal slots is a suitably shaped tool; on one side it is fixed to the broaching tool spindle and on the other it shows the profile of the slot to be made. The broaches of this family are made of special HSS steels suitably treated to be able to work even tough materials. The broaches are built in four series of sizes, distinguished by the diameter of the shank coupling with the broaching tool. Important Before carrying out the broaching, it is necessary to drill a slightly larger pre-hole (from 0.1 to 0.3 mm) in the piece compared to the slot and deeper in blind holes to allow the chip to escape. It is recommended to use a suitable cutting oil during processing.
